APPOINTMENTS DURING COVID-19
In line with National Guidance, all Worcester City practices are working together to provide the best care for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that there will need to be one site where patients who may be at higher risk of COVID-19 should be assessed, this will be known as the 'Red Site'. This will generally be for patients who have fever or respiratory symptoms (cough & shortness of breath). Patients who need to be seen in person but do not have symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 will be seen at a different site known as the 'Amber Site'. All appointments for these sites will be made following telephone or video assessment by a GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner. For Elbury Moor the 'Red Site' will be at Farrier House Surgery. Patients will be seen there by a GP from their own practice. Henwick Halt Medical Centre, Turnpike House Medical Centre and Barbourne Health Centre will all be Amber Sites. Please be reassured that the staff working in both sites will have appropriate PPE. There are set safety protocols and strict cleaning schedules in place to protect patients and staff.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS
There is heightened coverage around the recent Coronavirus outbreak around the world, which is now severely impacting on the UK and the NHS.
Unfortunately fraudsters are targeting these circumstances to take advantage of public fear and concern.
We have been made aware that our patients are receiving phone calls., texts and letters from fraudsters. They will try and obtain your personal details and in particular your NHS number.
Scammers are sophisticated, opportunistic and will try many ways to get the information they want. They often target the vulnerable.
If you are suspicious, do not give any details over the phone, hang up and then ring your GP Practice to confirm.

THE NHS across Worcestershire & Herefordshire will be better prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases if the public follows Public Health England advice.
The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of patients & staff which may mean your patient experience is subject to change.
The new advice issued by the Chief Medical Officer is to stay at home for 7 days if you have either:-
- a high temperature or
- a new continuous cough
DO NOT go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or a hospital. You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you are staying at home.
Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if:-
- you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
- your condition gets worse
- your symptoms do not get better after 7 days

Please note, the Practice does not utilise, promote, engage with or otherwise have any dealings with Pharmacy 2 U and, furthermore, has not given nor has been asked for, consent for the Practice name to appear on any marketing material.
Prescribing Policies in Worcestershire with effect from September 2017
Following engagement work with the public earlier this year, Worcestershire CCG's no longer support the prescribing of certain medications including over the counter medicines (eg paracetamol and ibuprofen), gluten free products, baby milk & specialist infant formula and oral nutritional supplements. NEW SERVICE : PHYSIOTHERAPY SELF-REFERRAL Did you know that you can now visit the self-help website at www.hacw.nhs.uk/movetoimprove. If after visiting this website you still require further support, please complete the electronic self-referral form available on the site.

These services include a self help tool, a directory for local pharmacies; which can see you for minor ailments such as: Diarrhoea, mouth ulcers, thrush, teething, head lice, hay fever, hemorrhoids, cystitis, constipation, skin conditions and emergency contraception.
There is a video to view which states you can ring the new clinical contact centre; this number is not yet available, it is planned to be phased in during the winter.
The Care Quality Commission has issued an inspection report following a structured telephone call on 8th May 2019 and a site visit on 17th October 2019. For further details please see 'patient information leaflets & fees' under 'Further Information' on the right hand side of this page.
All our patients have a named GP but you can still see any Doctor or Nurse at the practice.
